Onboard Weighing Systems for Pallet Weighing

Onboard Weighing Systems for Pallet Weighing

In industries where palletised goods are regularly transported, accurate weight measurement is crucial for safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Onboard weighing systems integrated into forklifts and other material handling equipment offer a seamless solution for real-time pallet weighing. The RDS Liftlog 100 is a pallet weighing scale designed for this exact purpose.

Pallet Weighing

A vital component in logistics, pallets are used to store, transport, and assemble goods. Checking weighing pallets is essential before loading vehicles, to decide their placement either on the top or bottom deck of a trailer and to ensure it’s not overloaded. Equally important is to check weigh pallets and goods before placing them on warehouse racking.

Why Pallet Weighing is Important

Increased efficiency

Traditional weighing methods often require operators to move pallets to a separate weighing station, adding time and labour costs. With onboard weighing, weight measurements are taken instantly, reducing delays and improving workflow.

Enhanced accuracy

Modern weighing systems use advanced sensors to ensure precise weight readings, reducing the risk of overloading and ensuring compliance with vehicle payload weight limits.

Cost saving

By eliminating the need for separate weighing stations, businesses can reduce equipment costs and minimise downtime travelling to and from these static positions in the warehouse.

Safety

Removing static weighing stations significantly reduces site traffic.

Improved compliance

Overloaded vehicles can lead to fines, safety hazards, and increased wear and tear on vehicles. Pallet weighing scales ensure that weight limits are adhered to, helping companies avoid penalties and maintain safety.

Real-time data monitoring

Many weighing systems come with digital interfaces and connectivity options, allowing operators to access weight data instantly. This feature enables better decision-making and enhances overall operational transparency.

Pallet Weighing Scales: Liftlog 100, Liftlog 100+ and Liftlog 1000

Liftlog 100

The RDS Liftlog 100 can be retrofitted onto a masted forklift to provide load monitoring and weighing functions.

Pallet Weighing Scales: Liftlog100

Using a sensor to measure hydraulic pressure in the system, the Liftlog 100 informs the operator of load as a calculated weight displayed in tons or kg.

It features an internal alarm to warn when the load threshold has been reached, as well as when the overload point is triggered. This is ideal for applications where multiple pallets are to be check-weighed, negating the need for a floor-mounted platform scale.

Forklift Weighing Scales - Liftlog

Liftlog 100+

The Liftlog shares the features of Liftlog 100 whilst also incorporating a totatlising function.

Liftlog 1000

The Liftlog 1000 is a high-accuracy (+/- 0.5% truck capacity) forklift-mounted scale.

Liftlog 1000 supports the optional ICP 300 printer. It also benefits from a memory stores function with the ability to include an additional text reference to be associated with the load. The data can be exported via USB stick.
