Ports

Ports

2016 SOLAS regulations require the verification of packed containers' weights on each vessel as a condition for loading.

Many ports use forklift trucks to load containers and reach stackers to move containers. Over loading in these environments is a health and safety issue. Ports tend to have weighbridges but at the entrance/exit and not a convenient location for container weighing.

RDS provide the Loadmaster Alpha 100 for fitting onto reach stackers and forklift trucks. The system is an automatic catch weighing instrument, MID class Y (b) type approved. It features an SQL database with XML data output for integration with Terminal Operating Systems.

Testimonials

We were looking for accuracy of weight for shipping cargo overseas. Before we got onboard weighing capabilities we used a rather long-winded process with floor scales. The RDSMME area manager came to see us and gave us open and honest advice on what would suit us best including options for workflow and printing tickets. We now have a much smoother process which saves us time and, I estimate a few hundred pounds a week; which all adds up. I’d recommend RDSMME to anyone. RDSMME are aware of the needs of a business including process requirements and cost.
