The RDS MME Artemis Lite can provide you with intelligent seed drilling without the costly price tag.
Seed Drilling Process: Explained
The seed drilling process ensures that the seeds are planted at the right depth and spacing, allowing for a uniformed crop growth. For autumn-sown cereals, drilling occurs from late September to early November.
The steps involved are straightforward but crucial for maximising yield and efficiency: from the field preparation, drill calibration, and drilling, through to the covering and pressing and subsequent management.
Seed Drilling with the Artemis Lite
Reliable, efficient technology has never been more important with more challenges than ever to overcome – such as unpredictable weather and issues regarding soil type and topography.
The Artemis Lite offers a more accurate seed drilling process, without a huge cost attached.
The Artemis Lite has been designed using the experience gained from the Precision Farming enabled PSi Artemis (over 1000 in the field), specifically for drills with a single pneumatic metering unit. This would typically be a close-coupled 3-point linkage mounted drill.
You get accurate results every time with no need to invest in an expensive terminal.
Simply fit the low-cost control box, and you get a variable rate controller that does away with seeding errors caused by slippage between the ground wheel and the land, and the ability to control everything from the cab – without having to invest in a full precision farming solution.
Core Features
1. A ‘pre-start facility’ primes the seed mechanism before drilling. Simply press the Pre-Start Button, wait a few seconds, and pull away.
2. Quick and simple operator product calibration. Press the Drill Priming Button, dispense product into a container, weigh and enter information into the instrument.
3. Calibration ‘on the move’. When application rates require changing, utilise the manual adjustment buttons.
4. Ability to change rate from the tractor cab.
5. Includes all traditional drill functions:
- Forward speed
- Tramline control: symmetric and asymmetric
- Area totals (2)
- Fan tachometer
- Low seed level alarm
Benefits of the Artemis Lite
Why the Artemis Lite over similar products on the market?
The Artemis Lite provides users with intelligent and accurate seed drilling rate control, without the huge cost.
The system eliminates seeding errors caused by slippage between the ground wheel and the land.
